Meet Me - Amy Richardson
(and my machine: Betsy)

My MachineI started making these baskets for family and friends and then ventured into hand bags. They are unique enough that I started getting custom orders, and things snowballed from there. Now I have a blog, a website and a business. I make each individual bag in my studio in Falmouth, Maine. I sew on “Betsy”, a 1963 Singer workhorse, who loves me as much as I love her. I carefully select fabrics to reflect the hues of the outdoors and am particularly inspired by the ocean, my daylily garden and the bright colors viewed while window shopping.

I also dabble in all sorts of sewing projects including quilting, kids clothes and random house hold necessities. I love to play with my embroidery machine and personalize my world. I also paper craft – although I don’t scrapbook, I make jewelry, and cheat-knit using the knifty-knitter.

Thank you for visiting my website and taking an interest in my handmade tote bags and purses. I hope you will be inspired to live a colorful life!
